Thank you for your support of the Medford Education Foundation and its activities this past school year, With your support, and that of our local business community, the Foundation hosted the popular Teacher vs. Teacher Basketball “Throwdown” in October, “Dine Out for Education” night in February, our annual Golf Outing and Dinner in May, and the Family Pool Party and BBQ in June. Please join us on July 19 at Laurel Oak Garden Center for the annual Pond and Garden Tour which is sponsored by Laurel Oak Garden Center and directly benefits both the Medford Education Foundation and the Evesham Education Foundation. These events allow the Medford Education Foundation to fund its Education Grant Program and make other significant donations to the Medford Township School District.
Since 2004, the Medford Education Foundation has raised over $550,000.00 for the benefit of our public schools and students. These funds have been used for things such as mobile laptop laboratories, technology upgrades and the purchase of independent reading books. Last year the Foundation purchased 120 laptops and 7 wifi enabled laptop carts – one for each of the schools in the District – to provide more opportunities for our students to access technology in the classroom.
Funds raised by the Medford Education Foundation are also used for the Foundation’s Education Grant Program which supports teachers and encourages creativity in the classroom by providing resources for extraordinary educational experiences such as hands-on classroom projects, field trips, art, music and drama programs, enhanced STEM education, guest speakers, assemblies and access to technology. Since the first awards were made in February of 2013, the Foundation has awarded more than $35,000.00 in grants for a variety of educational initiatives. This year, the Foundation is pleased to be able to make a $1000.00 directed donation – for a total of an additional $7000.00 in gifts – to each of the seven schools in the District to improve the Library Media Centers in each building.
